AC Milan join race for Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku
AC Milan have reportedly joined the race for Chelsea’s out-of-form Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku, as per a report.
The 28-year-old has battled for goals since getting back to Stamford Bridge from Inter Milan for around £97.5m the previous summer, with just five being netted in 21 Premier League appearances to date.
In the wake of uncovering in a meeting toward the finish of last year that he was unhappy with his circumstance at Chelsea, Lukaku has battled for game time with the Champions League holders as well, which has added to reports that the club could hope to pick up and move on the striker in the summer.

Former managers Inter have been intensely connected with a move for the Belgian, however as indicated by Goal, city rivals AC Milan have now been credited with an interest in taking him back to Italy as well.
However, the report does add how the likely demands of a significant transfer fee from Chelsea, as well as the player’s wage demands, would be a huge stumbling block in any potential deal at this stage.
Although, it is also outlined how the potential takeover at the Rossoneri could change that, with Bahrain-based investment company Investcorp currently in talks to purchase the club from current owners Elliott Management.
Lukaku’s last appearance for Chelsea came in his side’s 4-2 defeat to Arsenal at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, in which the striker started the game, but was substituted off 60 minutes into the defeat.

Antonio Conte told he must improve Tottenham’s woeful record at Stamford Bridge

Jamie Carragher has cautioned Antonio Conte he should address Tottenham’s embarrassing record at Stamford Bridge assuming that they are to become serious Premier League competitors.
Assumptions are high for Spurs this season, with a solid completion last season to get Champions League football upheld by a bustling summer of move action. Yves Bissouma, Richarlison and Ivan Perisic are among those to have arrived in north London.
Conte’s side came from behind to beat Southampton 4-1 in their opening match of the season, and they face an early test of their credentials with a trip to face Chelsea on Sunday.
Tottenham have won just once at Stamford Bridge since the inaugural Premier League season in 1992. That came in 2018, when Dele Alli scored twice in a 3-1 win, and Conte was in the home dugout as Chelsea boss.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s clash, Carragher hit out at Spurs’ record at the ground, though he believes Conte could be the man to change it after the Italian led his side to draw at Anfield and victory away to Manchester City last season.
“I think we’ll see a lot of what Spurs are about today,” Carragher said.
“You’ve mentioned how many times they’ve won [at Stamford Bridge]. It’s embarrassing – two top teams, in London, to come here and only win once in the Premier League era.
“That’s what Antonio Conte has to change. If you look at the record last season against Liverpool and Manchester City, he got really big results.”

Chelsea vs Tottenham: Confirmed lineups

Chelsea battle Tottenham today as a fierce London rivalry is renewed early in the new Premier League season.
While repeating his Premier League title-winning exploits with Chelsea at Spurs might be hugely difficult for Antonio Conte given the sky-high standards that both Manchester City and Liverpool have set, Spurs are expected to fight towards the summit of the top-flight this term.
Last season, that position belonged to Chelsea, although so much has changed for Thomas Tuchel since then.

‘That is what they didn’t do’ – Erik explains what his boys failed to do at Brentford loss

Talking his disappointment at Manchester United’s 4-0 misfortune to Brentford this Saturday, Erik ten Hag said in his post-match interview: “Difficult for me and a surprise. The team has to take the responsibility and I feel sorry for the fans, we let them down.
“I asked them [the players] to play with belief and take responsibility, that is what they didn’t do.
“Only when we stick together we will overcome it — don’t get me wrong, the manager is the main responsibility and I take that but I have to give them belief and they have to get it by themselves.
“Mistakes are part of football, you have to keep going but you have [to] especially act — It [three subs at half-time] was about bringing fresh ones. I could have changed all eight others as well.”
Ten Hag has plainly not kept down in his evaluation and United just have themselves to fault for this wreck.
The Red Devils are currently winless in their first two Premier League games, having conceded six goals as of now.
