Arsenal set to sign new playmaker before transfer window shuts

With Mesut Ozil set to seal a move to Fenerbahce today, Arsenal are expected to step up their search for a new playmaker before the transfer window shuts for business once again at 11pm GMT on February 1.

All month the Gunners have been linked with a move for Emi Buendia, though Championship leaders Norwich have thus far been unwilling to sell their prized asset as they look to seal an instant return to the Premier League.

Sky Sports now report that it would take an offer worth in the region of £40m-£50m in order for Arsenal to be successful in their pursuit of the Argentine.
