Arsenal is reportedly seeking a prolific striker in the January transfer window and has made an offer for Borja Mayoral, who has been in outstanding form for Getafe in La Liga this season.
The 26-year-old has scored 12 goals in 19 league appearances, with a total of 15 goal contributions in 22 games across all competitions. His performances have been instrumental in Getafe’s push for European qualification.
Mayoral, who emerged from Real Madrid’s academy, is known for his poacher’s instincts and has surpassed his previous goal-scoring records in a top domestic league this season.
Arsenal’s reported €25 million offer for the striker has been rejected by Getafe, who are demanding €45 million for his transfer.
Given Mayoral’s age and current form, Getafe’s asking price reflects their intention to secure a premium for their top scorer, especially in the middle of the season.
While Arsenal would be taking a risk by spending over €30 million on a striker with a single prolific season, they may view Mayoral’s potential as worth the investment.
