Barcelona‘s redevelopment of the Spotify Camp Nou, which began in June last year, has been progressing well, according to multiple reports.
However, despite the initial optimism, the team’s planned return to the stadium in December or January is no longer feasible.
Relevo reports that delays in the installation of essential utilities like water and electricity have made it impossible for Barcelona to move back into the iconic arena within the originally projected timeframe.
As a result, the new target for their return is now April, which would still allow the team to host the home Clasico at the Spotify Camp Nou.
While the overall construction progress is on track, with Limak, the construction company, receiving praise for their work, the delay is a significant blow for the club, particularly financially.
The prolonged wait to return to their home ground means Barcelona will continue to face the challenges of playing their matches away from the Camp Nou for a little longer.
