Bayern Munich 2-2 Real Madrid: Vinicius saves Los Blancos, Sane & Kane score [VIDEO]

The UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid lived up to its billing, ending in a thrilling 2-2 draw at the Allianz Arena. Vinicius Junior opened the scoring for Real Madrid in the first half, but Leroy Sane and Harry Kane turned the game around with a goal each for Bayern. Vinicius then equalized with a penalty to set up an exciting second leg in Spain.

Vinicius Junior was the hero for Real Madrid, scoring both goals to secure a valuable draw away from home. Despite Bayern’s early pressure, it was Real Madrid who took the lead midway through the first half, capitalizing on a brilliant pass from Toni Kroos.

Vinicius’ goal marked his third consecutive season scoring in the Champions League semi-final.

Bayern Munich fought back in the second half, with Sane finding the back of the net to level the score.

The momentum shifted further in Bayern’s favor when Kane converted a penalty, giving them the lead. However, Real Madrid responded quickly, with Vinicius scoring his second of the night from the spot after a foul on Rodrygo.

The result leaves the tie finely poised heading into the second leg, with a place in the final at Wembley on the line.

Ademola Lookman nets HAT-TRICK as Atalanta stun Leverkusen to win Europa League

Ademola Lookman’s stunning hat-trick propelled Atalanta to their first silverware since 1963, ending Bayer Leverkusen’s unbeaten season in the Europa League final.

Lookman, the London-born Nigerian striker who began his career at Charlton, delivered two excellent first-half finishes and added a brilliant third goal 15 minutes from time, leading Atalanta to a commanding 3-0 victory in Dublin.

This triumph marked only the second trophy in Atalanta’s 116-year history, coming over six decades after their Coppa Italia win.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s side had lost to Juventus in the Coppa Italia final just seven days earlier, but they bounced back to derail Leverkusen’s momentum.

Lookman, formerly of Everton, Fulham, and Leicester, provided the decisive edge in a polished team performance.

Leverkusen, under Xabi Alonso, had been on the verge of an invincible season after securing their first Bundesliga title and remaining unbeaten for 51 games.

However, Leverkusen was unprepared for Atalanta’s high press, which forced early mistakes and set the tone for the match.

Granit Xhaka lost possession, leading to Matteo Ruggeri setting up a headed chance for Gianluca Scamacca.

Despite this clear warning, Leverkusen failed to respond, and Atalanta took the lead after 12 minutes.

Bayer Leverkusen complete UNBEATEN Bundesliga season under Xabi Alonso as they beat Augsburg 2-1

Bayer Leverkusen made history as the first team in the Bundesliga to complete a season unbeaten, following their 2-1 victory over Augsburg on Saturday. This win extended their impressive run to 51 games without defeat.

After securing their inaugural Bundesliga title in April, Leverkusen’s goals from Victor Boniface and Robert Andrich set them on the path to victory.

They are now eyeing a potential unbeaten treble with upcoming matches in the Europa League final against Atalanta and the German Cup final.

Leverkusen, managed by Xabi Alonso, took the lead 12 minutes into the match. Amine Adli capitalized on a mistake by Augsburg goalkeeper Tomas Koubek, gaining possession and passing to Boniface, who scored from close range.

Andrich increased Leverkusen’s advantage in the 27th minute, backheeling a rebound into the net.

Augsburg’s young talent, Mert Komor, scored a remarkable goal on his first start in the 62nd minute, but Leverkusen maintained their lead, securing the win ahead of what could be a historic week for the club.

Chelsea legend Mikel Obi pits Arsenal against Bayern Munich in quarter-final draws

Former Super Eagles player Mikel Obi made an appearance at the UEFA Champions League draw following the completion of the Round of 16 ties.

Arsenal advanced to the quarter-finals after surviving a scare against Porto and winning in a penalty shootout.

Other top teams such as Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund, and Atletico Madrid also secured quarter-final spots.

The draw, held recently, pitted these top teams against each other as they aim for a path to Wembley.

Mikel Obi, an AFCON winner, selected Arsenal to play against Bayern Munich, a team that has historically had the upper hand against the Gunners.

In other matchups, Barcelona will face Paris Saint-Germain, Atletico Madrid will play against Borussia Dortmund, and there will be a rematch of last season’s clash between Real Madrid and Manchester City.

Real Madrid will seek revenge against Manchester City, who knocked them out last season before going on to win the final against Inter Milan.
