Bayern Munich star Lewandowski confirms his ‘time is over’
Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has called his “time” at Allianz Arena “over”, with the Poland international frantic to leave the club during this late spring’s transfer window.
The 33-year-old was again in amazing form for Bayern during the 2021-22 season, scoring 50 goals and enlisting seven assists in 46 appearances in all rivalries.

Nonetheless, the forward’s agreement is expected to lapse next June, and he actually wants to leave the Bundesliga champions looking for pastures new.
Speaking during a press conference for the Polish national team, Lewandowski has said that he no longer wants to play for Bayern and is hopeful that the club do not prevent him from leaving in the upcoming market.
“My era at Bayern is over. I don’t see any possibility to continue playing for this club anymore. Bayern’s a serious club and I believe they won’t keep me, I don’t want to play there anymore. A transfer is the best solution. I hope they don’t stop me,” Lewandowski told reporters.
Former Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge recently branded Lewandowski “irreplaceable” for the club, urging the German giants not to allow the forward to leave.
“Robert is irreplaceable for FC Bayern. You need a player like that, even if he’s about to turn 34. That’s a goal guarantee that doesn’t exist anywhere in Europe. Robert is top class!” he said.
“You have to pray that Robert stays, he is the absolute attraction of the league. You have to fight for it, talk to him and cuddle with the advisor. You have to include him in the inner workings of the club.”

Barcelona striker opens up on Erling Haaland’s role in his decision to leave Bayern Munich

Speaking to ESPN FC about leaving Bayern Munich this summer, Robert Lewandowski said: “No, that was nothing to do with Erling Haaland. I am the guy who — even if something is not good for me — truth is more important. I don’t want to speak about what happened exactly.
“If the question is if the decision to move was because of him, no, I didn’t see the problem if he joined Bayern. But some kind of people doesn’t say to me the truth, say something different. And for me it was always important to be clear, to stay true, and maybe for a few people that was the problem.
“And in the end I know that something doesn’t work well with my person as well and I knew that, OK, I see and I feel that maybe it’s a good time to move out of Bayern and join Barcelona. I had a very good relationship with my teammates, with the staff, with the coach.
“These are all things I’m going to miss because I spent a beautiful time there. And we were not only friends from the pitch but also something more. But in the end this chapter is over and I open a new chapter in my life and a new chapter in my career. So I feel that I’m in the right position, right place.
“Everything that’s happened in the last few weeks before I left Bayern, that was a lot of politics. The club tried to find an argument why they can sell me to another club because before it was difficult to explain to the fans. And I had to accept that even though it was a lot of bulls**t said about me.”
With Lewandowski neglecting to concur another agreement with Bayern, the Bundesliga champions began to search for possible swaps for the striker last season.
Borussia Dortmund’s Haaland was connected with a move to the Allianz Arena prior to joining Manchester City. Lewandowski, in the mean time, left for Barcelona.
