Big Injury News Before Kings-Celtics Game

The Boston Celtics will begin their four-game Western Conference road trip on Monday with a matchup against the Sacramento Kings. Boston enters the game riding a five-game winning streak, maintaining strong momentum in their quest for consecutive NBA titles. Meanwhile, Sacramento has struggled in recent weeks due to injuries to key players like Domantas Sabonis and Malik Monk. The Kings have dropped two straight games and six of their last nine, slipping to ninth place in the Western Conference standings.

Sabonis has been dealing with multiple injuries, missing three consecutive games and nine of the last 11. The 28-year-old initially suffered a hamstring injury against the Houston Rockets before aggravating his ankle in his return against the Memphis Grizzlies on March 17.

However, there’s encouraging news for Sacramento. Sabonis has made significant progress in his recovery and was a full participant in practice today. He is officially listed as questionable for Tuesday’s matchup against Boston.

This update comes as a major relief for the Kings, especially since an earlier report from ESPN’s Shams Charania suggested he could miss up to 10 days. His potential return would be crucial as Sacramento fights to maintain its grip on the ninth seed, with a direct playoff berth becoming increasingly unlikely.

Sacramento has already defeated Boston once this season, securing a convincing 114-97 victory over the reigning champions. Sabonis played a pivotal role in that win, delivering an impressive 23-point, 28-rebound double-double. If he takes the court on Monday, he will look to lead the Kings to a season sweep against the Celtics.
