According to The Telegraph, West Ham has rejected Manchester City‘s £90 million bid for Declan Rice. The England midfielder is highly sought after in the transfer market, and it is widely anticipated that he will leave West Ham after leading them to victory in the Europa Conference League.

Arsenal has identified Rice as their primary target but has already had two bids turned down. Manchester City’s initial offer, consisting of a guaranteed £80 million with an additional £10 million in add-ons, has also been rejected by West Ham.

Mail Sport reports that Arsenal is preparing an improved third offer for Rice within 48 hours, separate from Manchester City’s bid. This upcoming proposal will focus on Arsenal’s efforts to sign Rice, who is Mikel Arteta’s top priority.

While Manchester City’s offer surpassed Arsenal’s previous rejected bid of a guaranteed £75 million plus an additional £15 million in bonuses, West Ham is holding out for at least £100 million for their star player. Sources suggest that Arsenal’s third offer will be closer to this valuation.

West Ham is seeking this amount after witnessing Jude Bellingham’s move to Real Madrid for a fee potentially rising to £113 million. Additionally, they have agreed to Rice’s desire to depart this summer.

The structure of the payment has become a significant consideration in the negotiations for Declan Rice. West Ham is seeking to receive the guaranteed portion of the transfer fee in two instalments before 2025. Arsenal’s second bid had the payments spread across a five-year period.
