‘Bring the kid back’ – Arsenal fans make Guendouzi point after masterclass

'Bring the kid back' - Arsenal fans make Guendouzi point after masterclass

Arsenal fans have made similar Matteo Guendouzi points after the midfielder produced yet another masterclass in Ligue 1 for Marseille in their match against FC Lorient.

Guendouzi scored twice for Jorge Sampaoli’s side in their 4-1 thrashing of the Ligue 1 minnows but the Gunners loanee also starred in the early season victory over AS Monaco.

“For right now, he’s gone for the season. I think he’s having a really good spell at Marseille, and it’s part of the plan we made with him,” Arteta said during his pre-Crystal Palace press conference.

“He’s continued with his development and we’ll make a decision at the end of the year.”

Then when asked if Guendouzi has played his last game for the club, Arteta didn’t exactly rule it out.

“I think you cannot say that about a player that is owned by the club,” he added.

Here is the best of the reaction on Twitter, with many fans still split on what should happen with the player in question regarding his long-term future and where that may lie come the end of the season.

@Lousa96318052 tweeted: ‘Matteo Guendouzi has really been great so far at Marseille. Arsenal made another mistake by letting him go. Guendouzi will be a 50 million player.’

@Twicks1960 questioned: ‘As a player I like Guendouzi…. Does he have a future at Arsenal who knows?

@TapasLegoPulis has put responsibility on the manager for what has unfolded: ‘If Arteta’s man management skills were good, he’d be able to manage Guendouzi, but he clearly couldn’t. Every club will have a player like this! It’s all too nice at Arsenal.’

@valazat mad a bold statement: ‘It will be a crime if Guendouzi never plays for Arsenal again. We can fix his attitude. Bring the kid back.’

@Umpteenthegooner made an interesting comparison: ‘Find it funny how so many Arsenal fans rate Tchouameni, but chat ill of Guendouzi and Saliba.

On the other side of the debate, @Danielfloyd1981 believes that Guendouzi doesn’t have a future at Arsenal despite his successful loan spell.

He tweeted: ‘Great to see Guendouzi doing well at Marseille but that kid has a rotten attitude problem and has no place at Arsenal Football Club. Just my opinion.’
