Toni Kroos blames Bundesliga competition for Bayern Munich 10 years dominance
The strength of Bayern Munich isn’t simply down to monetary muscle, yet more the absence of consistency from their Bundesliga rivalry.
That is according former Bayern midfielder Toni Kroos, who played multiple times for the Bundesliga giant prior to swapping Bavaria for Real Madrid in 2014.

Bayern became the first team across Europe’s main five leagues to win their separate first class on 10 progressive occasions after a 3-1 triumph over Klassiker rivals Borussia Dortmund last Saturday.
However, Kroos does not believe that it is just the disparity in transfer activity that has aided Bayern’s dominance, but also the lack of constant pressure from title contenders Dortmund and RB Leipzig.
“The competition has to be more constant. Teams like Dortmund or Leipzig are quite capable of keeping up in certain phases,” said Kroos in the Simply Mal Luppen podcast.
“But they are not as consistent. It’s not just about money.”
While Kroos was quick to question the competition provided by Dortmund and Leipzig, the 32-year-old could take nothing away from another fantastic season for Nagelsmann’s men.
“It’s an exceptional performance, especially mentally,” said the midfielder. “It’s no surprise that they are the best team in Germany in terms of quality.
“But wanting to do it year after year and giving the championship title meaning is something special.”

Barcelona striker opens up on Erling Haaland’s role in his decision to leave Bayern Munich

Speaking to ESPN FC about leaving Bayern Munich this summer, Robert Lewandowski said: “No, that was nothing to do with Erling Haaland. I am the guy who — even if something is not good for me — truth is more important. I don’t want to speak about what happened exactly.
“If the question is if the decision to move was because of him, no, I didn’t see the problem if he joined Bayern. But some kind of people doesn’t say to me the truth, say something different. And for me it was always important to be clear, to stay true, and maybe for a few people that was the problem.
“And in the end I know that something doesn’t work well with my person as well and I knew that, OK, I see and I feel that maybe it’s a good time to move out of Bayern and join Barcelona. I had a very good relationship with my teammates, with the staff, with the coach.
“These are all things I’m going to miss because I spent a beautiful time there. And we were not only friends from the pitch but also something more. But in the end this chapter is over and I open a new chapter in my life and a new chapter in my career. So I feel that I’m in the right position, right place.
“Everything that’s happened in the last few weeks before I left Bayern, that was a lot of politics. The club tried to find an argument why they can sell me to another club because before it was difficult to explain to the fans. And I had to accept that even though it was a lot of bulls**t said about me.”
With Lewandowski neglecting to concur another agreement with Bayern, the Bundesliga champions began to search for possible swaps for the striker last season.
Borussia Dortmund’s Haaland was connected with a move to the Allianz Arena prior to joining Manchester City. Lewandowski, in the mean time, left for Barcelona.
