Club World Cup 2021: Chelsea fixtures, qualified teams and how to watch

Chelsea will contend in the Club World Cup after winning the 2020-21 Champions League.

The 2021 Club World Cup has been pushed back to 2022 because of the Covid-19 pandemic and the host country has been changed from Japan to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Liverpool (2019) and Manchester United (2008) are the main past English champs, with Chelsea losing to Corinthians in the 2012 final.

How can I watch the Club World Cup?

Broadcasting details are yet to be confirmed but the BBC showed the 2020 edition, which was won by Bayern Munich, and are expected to do so again.

Al Jazira vs Auckland City

Second round

Al Ahly vs Monterrey

Al Jazira or Auckland City vs Al Hilal

Semi-final

Al Ahly or Monterrey vs Palmeiras

Al Hilal or Al Jazira or Auckland City vs Chelsea

How does the tournament work?

Al Jazira face Auckland City in the only first-round fixture.

There are then two second-round matches, two semi-finals and a final.

Who will Chelsea face in the Club World Cup?

Chelsea will enter at the semi-final stage and face Al Hilal, Al Jazira or Auckland City for a place in the final.

In the first round, Al Jazira face Auckland City. The winner of that match will face Al Hilal, with the winners then taking on Chelsea.

In the other half of the draw, Palmeiras play either Monterrey or Al Ahly in their semi-final.
