Cristiano Ronaldo overtakes Messi to set another Guinness World Record

Cristiano Ronaldo has secured another Guinness World Records title, this time for being the highest-earning athlete in 2023.
With estimated earnings of £107.5 million in the year leading up to May 2023, Ronaldo surpassed Lionel Messi, who held the title in 2022.
Ronaldo’s income comprised £35 million from on-field earnings and an impressive £68.5 million from endorsements.
His off-field earnings are boosted by his lucrative Nike contract and his successful CR7-branded merchandise.
This recognition marks the third time overall and the first time since 2017 that Ronaldo has been acknowledged as the world’s highest-paid athlete.
After leaving Manchester United, he joined Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, where he earns an astounding £173 million salary, equivalent to £3.6 million per week.
In his debut season at Al Nassr, Ronaldo showcased his prowess by scoring 14 goals in 19 games across all competitions.
