Mo Salah narrowly avoided missing a penalty after striking the crossbar, relying on the rebound off the goalkeeper’s backside to score for the Egyptian national team as they prepare for the upcoming African Cup of Nations.

Egypt, who reached the tournament’s final in the previous edition, secured a 2-0 victory against Tanzania in their final warm-up match ahead of their opening game against the Ivory Coast.

However, Salah’s performance wasn’t his best, despite providing an assist for Egypt’s opening goal.

The Liverpool star had the chance to make a statement after facing criticism for his penalty-taking at Liverpool.

However, he struggled to find the target, with the ball hitting the crossbar and bouncing off the goalkeeper’s backside into the net.

While Salah appeared relieved by the goal, his status as Liverpool’s main penalty taker was questioned following a missed penalty against Newcastle, which was saved by Martin Dubravka.

Although he scored on the rebound, fans have expressed concerns about his penalty-taking, citing previous misses against Arsenal and Bournemouth.
