Enyimba announces player departures ahead of 2024/2025 season kickoff

As the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season approaches, Enyimba International FC has made a bold move by announcing the departure of 13 players from the club, just days before the league’s kickoff. This significant roster change is set to reshape the team dynamics as they prepare for the upcoming season.

One of the most notable departures is Super Eagles goalkeeper Ojo Olorunleke, who has secured a move to Al Merrikh in Sudan. His exit marks a major shift for the People’s Elephants as they lose a key player just ahead of the new season.

In addition to Olorunleke, other prominent players leaving the club include striker Chijioke Mbaoma and Ikenne Cooper. The club’s list of departing players also features Desmond Ojietefihan, Anthony Okachi, Chidozie Chilekwu, Ngomere Chisom, Chibuike Nwaiwu, George Owen, MacBen Otika, Uche Collins, Tochukwu Emmanuel, and James Orasonye.

Enyimba FC has expressed its heartfelt appreciation to these players for their commitment and contributions during their time with the club. As the former NPFL champions gear up for the new season, they are set to face newly promoted side Beyond Limit in their opening league match.

This shake-up signals Enyimba’s intent to rebuild and possibly inject fresh talent into their squad as they aim for success in the upcoming campaign. Fans and analysts alike will be keen to see how these changes impact the team’s performance as the NPFL season unfolds.
