Turkish Super Lig club Galatasaray has provided an official update on the injury sustained by Victor Osimhen during their recent match against Kasimpasa last Saturday.
Osimhen made an immediate impact for Okan Buruk’s side, scoring twice in the first half, with goals in the 20th and 28th minutes.
However, the 25-year-old striker was substituted at halftime, making way for former Belgian international Dries Mertens.
After the game, Osimhen downplayed the severity of his injury, stating, “It’s not serious. I felt some discomfort and decided to inform my coach. I didn’t want to risk reducing the team’s performance, so I thought it was best to come off.”
On Tuesday, Galatasaray released a statement detailing Osimhen’s condition:
“Victor Osimhen, who experienced discomfort in his left posterior muscle during the Kasimpasa match in the seventh week of the Trendyol Super League, has been diagnosed with a muscle strain and bleeding following check-ups at our sponsor hospital, Medicana. His treatment has already begun.”
The club is monitoring Osimhen’s recovery closely, and more updates are expected as his rehabilitation progresses.
