Granit Xhaka undergoes medical ahead of Bayer Leverkusen transfer

Granit Xhaka, the Arsenal midfielder, has reportedly traveled to Cologne to undergo a medical examination as part of his imminent transfer to Bayer Leverkusen.

The Swiss international had an impressive 2022/23 season with Arsenal, contributing nine goals and seven assists in 47 appearances across all competitions.

Xhaka’s performances have won over the trust of the fans, mending a previously mixed relationship.

The 30-year-old has now made the decision to return to the German Bundesliga with Leverkusen.

According to Bild, Xhaka was seen at the Mediapark Clinic in Cologne, where he is undergoing the mandatory medical tests for the transfer.

It is expected that he will sign a four-year contract with Leverkusen, and manager Xabi Alonso believes that Xhaka will elevate the team to a higher level in the upcoming season.
