Sevilla is reportedly interested in signing Mason Greenwood from Manchester United at the end of the season.

However, it’s worth noting that Greenwood wishes to make his loan at Getafe permanent.

The 22-year-old Manchester United forward moved to La Liga last month, following an investigation into his off-field behavior that led to the decision that he could not continue his career at Old Trafford.

Originally, it seemed he would return to Manchester United, but the club’s decision was reversed after a backlash from fans.

Greenwood had faced legal issues and was arrested in January of the previous year on charges of attempted rape, assault, and coercive control.

However, all charges were dropped in February by the Crown Prosecution Service due to the withdrawal of key witnesses and new material that came to light.

Greenwood has made five appearances for Getafe, scoring his first goal against Celta Vigo on October 8.

According to reports, Sevilla is preparing to make a move for Greenwood, whose Manchester United contract runs until the summer of 2025.

It’s noted that Manchester United is believed to still be covering the majority of his £75,000-a-week wages.

Sevilla won the previous season’s Europa League, securing a place in this season’s Champions League in the process.
