'He's aware' - Chelsea told they could lose James to one top club if poor form continues

Chelsea’s struggles in front of goal continued as they played to a second consecutive goalless draw in the Premier League, against Bournemouth.

Real Madrid has reportedly been keeping tabs on Reece James for a while and sees him as an ideal candidate for the right-back position.

However, James has shown no indication of wanting to leave Chelsea, where he has been named captain and signed a long-term contract.

Journalist Dean Jones suggests that if Chelsea’s on-field struggles persist, it could potentially influence James’ decision in the future.

Jones told Give Me Sport: “Reece James has been aware of Real Madrid’s interest.

“But currently, his complete focus has been on Chelsea, getting fit and emerging as a leader in this squad.

“The only thing Chelsea should worry about is if this season goes badly.

“Reece James is committed, but if they have a repeat of last term, and Real Madrid make an offer, he’s got a decision to make. Turning that down would not be easy.”
