'I just sent a letter' - Mbappe's status update on PSG future

Kylian Mbappe has confirmed that he sent a letter to Paris Saint-Germain informing them of his decision not to sign a contract extension until June 2025.

The French forward clarified that the letter was sent some time ago, and not during the recent international break.

He said: “I just sent a letter but it was time ago, not during the international break.

“No need to explain why. I have my own reasons. My only option now is staying at PSG, I already said that”.

Kylian Mbappe’s decision to send a letter to Paris Saint-Germain, stating his lack of intention to extend his contract, has created a significant buzz.

If Mbappe does not activate the clause to extend his deal by an additional 12 months, his contract with PSG will expire in 2024.

This situation puts PSG at risk of losing Mbappe for free in June 2024.

Furthermore, starting from January, Mbappe will be free to negotiate and sign a pre-contract agreement with any new club if he chooses to see out the remaining year of his contract at PSG.
