Inter Miami's Jordi Alba retires from international football

Jordi Alba, the fullback for Inter Miami, has officially announced his retirement from international football.

Having represented the Spanish national team for nearly 12 years, Alba amassed an impressive record of 93 appearances and 10 goals during his tenure.

Alba conveyed his decision to retire from international duty to Spain’s coach, Luis de la Fuente. This announcement coincided with Alba’s departure from Barcelona and his subsequent move to Inter Miami.

Alba’s presence in the Spanish national team has been enduring, starting from his debut on October 11, 2011, under the management of Vicente del Bosque.

His international career includes participation in various major tournaments, including the 2014, 2018, and 2022 FIFA World Cups, as well as the 2016 and 2021 UEFA European Championships.

Additionally, he played in the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup and the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
