Celtics Provide Concerning Announcement on Jaylen Brown’s Availability
Jaylen Brown was absent from the Boston Celtics’ 121-99 victory over the Utah Jazz on Friday, March 22. Just before tipoff, the team announced that Brown had been diagnosed with a bone bruise in his right knee.
As a result, Brown will also be sidelined for Boston’s upcoming matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday, March 23. He is set to be re-evaluated on Monday, March 24, when the team will provide further updates on his condition.
“Celtics forward Jaylen Brown has been diagnosed with a bone bruise with posterior impingement in his right knee,” the team’s PR staff stated. “He’ll miss the next two games and will be reevaluated on Monday.”
Fans may be concerned that Brown’s injury could extend beyond the weekend. As a key contributor to Boston’s success, his absence is notable, especially as the Celtics remain among the top championship contenders.
However, with ample time remaining before the playoffs, there is no urgency for Boston to rush Brown back onto the court. The team has already secured the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference and is comfortably navigating the remainder of the regular season.
So far this season, Brown has appeared in 56 games, averaging 22.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 4.7 assists while shooting 45.9% from the field and 31.6% from three-point range.
