Lakers make key Bronny James roster decision amid upcoming road

As the Los Angeles Lakers gear up for a four-game road trip to close out March, they will do so without Bronny James on their active roster. The team has opted to assign him to the South Bay Lakers in the G League for the remainder of their regular season.

South Bay has just two home games left on their schedule, set for Monday and Tuesday. With a 13-17 record and sitting in tenth place, they are on the verge of missing the playoffs. As a result, these upcoming games will likely be the last chance for fans to watch Bronny in G League action this season.

James has been part of the Lakers’ active roster and recently delivered a standout performance during the team’s loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. With several key players resting on the second night of a back-to-back, he stepped up off the bench, logging 30 minutes and finishing with a career-high 17 points, along with three rebounds, five assists, and a block. He was highly efficient, shooting 7-of-10 from the field and 2-of-4 from beyond the arc.

After the game, James reflected on his growth and increasing confidence throughout the season.

“I’ve gained my confidence and comfortability through reps, just getting out there and taking advantage of opportunities when they come,” James said. “The biggest thing for me is staying ready—whether it’s games, practices, or whatever comes my way. I just try to make the most of it like I did tonight.”
