The Texas Rangers have traded pitcher Grant Anderson to the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for minor league pitcher Mason Molina, as announced yesterday.
Anderson, a Texas native, was originally acquired by the Rangers in 2019 in a deal for designated reliever Connor Sadzeck. Recently designated for assignment to make room for Joc Pederson on the 40-man roster, Anderson has struggled with a 6.35 ERA across 62.1 innings in 49 appearances over the past two seasons.
In return, the Rangers received a promising prospect in Molina. Selected by the Brewers in the 7th round of the 2024 MLB Draft, Molina was ranked #147 on Baseball America‘s pre-draft prospect list. The left-handed pitcher played two seasons at Texas Tech before
