Bengals mock draft gives Trey Hendrickson a major reason to return
After an explosive offensive season in 2024, the Cincinnati Bengals are now shifting their attention to fixing a defense that struggled significantly. While their offseason has been a success offensively—securing long-term deals for star wide receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins—the focus now turns to their defensive unit, particularly Trey Hendrickson.
Hendrickson has been a dominant force for the Bengals, racking up 35 sacks over the past two seasons and earning First-Team All-Pro honors last year. Given his impact, he’s due for a well-earned payday, and Cincinnati must find a way to keep him happy with a new contract.
However, keeping Hendrickson isn’t just about offering him a lucrative deal. The Bengals need to surround him with more defensive talent to alleviate some of the pressure he carries as their primary pass rusher. While their offensive core is well-established, bolstering the defense through the NFL Draft should be a top priority.
In a recent mock draft by Sayre Bedinger of NFL Spin Zone, the Bengals make a move that strengthens their defensive line—giving Hendrickson much-needed support. If executed correctly, this could not only enhance Cincinnati’s defensive unit but also provide Hendrickson with more incentive to remain with the team long-term.
