Egypt doctor claims Salah played Champions League final through injury
Egypt national team doctor Mohamed Abou El Ela has uncovered that Mohamed Salah is as yet battling with a physical issue he got a long time before the Champions League final.
“Salah’s injury occurred during the FA Cup final in the adductor muscles, then he played against Wolves and in the Champions League final, and all of this in just 14 days,” the doctor told On Time Sports.
“We read a statistic that he’s the second-highest player in terms of minutes played this season.
“We send and receive players with medical reports, and Liverpool’s said that he had pain and should get an x-ray, there’s not a 100% fit player, but there’s the question of whether he can push himself and play without risk.
“The club thought that one [AFCON qualifying] game is enough and we chose the Guinea game because the second against Ethiopia would be hard for him to travel in a long flight. He couldn’t play another game after three days.”
In fairness, Salah played just close to 30 minutes in both the FA Cup final against Chelsea and in the last Premier League game against Wolves – where he even scored a goal.
In any case, obviously Salah was not at his best toward the finish of the last season, and that injury might’ve had something to do with it.

Rodrygo reveals how Real Madrid players reacted to Salah’s ‘revenge’ claims
At the point when Liverpool learned they would face Real Madrid in the Champions League last, nobody was more joyful than Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian was very vocal in his longing for ‘revenge’ for the defeat in the 2018 final.
However, Real Madrid won for this present year too, and as indicated by their forward Rodrygo, Salah’s words filled in as an additional piece of inspiration for them.
“When a guy provokes someone, sometimes you just want to win so you can make fun of them. In training [before the CL final] we used to say ‘come Salah, come Salah’… In our head, it was already: ‘We have to win to make fun of Salah’,” Rodrygo has said on Podpah podcast.
“When the Champions League final was over, Modric passed in front of Salah and said ‘next time you try again’,” the Brazilian added.
