Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Luis Diaz has returned to training with Liverpool despite the ongoing distressing situation involving his family.

Diaz’s parents were abducted by armed individuals on motorcycles while they were shopping at a gas station in their hometown of La Guajira in Colombia last Saturday.

While Diaz’s mother, Cilenis Marulanda, was fortunately released later that night, his father remains in captivity. Local police and military forces in Colombia are collaborating to secure his safe return.

A significant manhunt is underway, with authorities attributing the kidnapping to the Ejercito de Liberacion Nacional (ELN), the last remaining rebel group in Colombia, known as the National Liberation Army.

Diaz’s mother was abandoned in a car as police closed in, while the kidnappers seized his father.

Despite the troubling situation, the 26-year-old Liverpool forward Diaz has returned to training with the club after staying in England when he learned of the incident on Saturday night. He did not participate in Liverpool’s recent matches against Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth.
