Manchester City has identified Josko Gvardiol as their priority target for the center-back position this summer.
According to the Manchester Evening News, the 21-year-old Croatian is the player that manager Pep Guardiola believes can further strengthen their already successful back line, which clinched a treble-winning season.
RB Leipzig has set an asking price of £85 million along with potential add-ons for the highly talented and physically imposing defender, who also impressed during the World Cup.
Although Gvardiol’s potential signing would require a significant portion of City’s summer budget, Guardiola is not looking to overhaul his squad entirely.
Instead, there might be departures in the defensive squad, with players like Joao Cancelo, Aymeric Laporte, and Kyle Walker potentially leaving the club during this transfer window.
