Man Utd boss breaks silence on Varane's surprise substitution against Nottingham Forest

During Manchester United’s 3-2 triumph over Nottingham Forest, Raphael Varane was substituted at half-time due to certain discomfort.

When questioned about the reason behind this decision, Erik ten Hag explained that Varane had expressed concerns regarding his condition, prompting the coaching staff to prioritize his well-being and avoid any unnecessary risks by taking him off the pitch.

“We have Harry (Maguire) and Victor (Lindelof) who can replace him so we didn’t take the risk. I don’t know if it is bad. We have to wait.”

Given Raphael Varane’s injury history since joining Manchester United, fans might understandably have concerns regarding his well-being in light of this recent development.

While Varane appeared to be in good condition during the first half, it seems that he might have encountered a minor issue that necessitated his substitution.

In the midst of losing players like Mason Mount and Luke Shaw to injuries in the past week, Erik ten Hag, the manager, will undoubtedly be hoping that Varane’s situation doesn’t turn out to be a serious injury setback.

The team’s injury situation has already posed challenges, and the hope will be to avoid any further complications in their lineup due to injuries.
