Man Utd told to forget Unai Emery as Ten Hag’s possible successor

Darren Bent, a former footballer and current pundit, stated in an interview with talkSPORT that Unai Emery is unlikely to leave Aston Villa for Manchester United.
He cited the turmoil and instability at Manchester United as a significant deterrent for Emery and suggested that he is currently in a stable environment with Aston Villa, a club that is heading in the right direction.
“He wouldn’t leave Aston Villa now. He wouldn’t.
“Not with that mess that’s going on [at Man United]. He’s not leaving. No chance. At the minute, he’s at a stable football club who are going in the right direction.
“I don’t know what’s going on at Man United. Listen, Man United are a bigger club, I have no doubts about that, but right now Aston Villa are in a more stable position and look better than Man United.
“Do you think Eddie Howe would leave Newcastle to go to Man United? Absolutely not.”
Erik ten Hag, despite a promising debut season at Manchester United, is facing significant pressure due to the team’s slow start to the 2023-24 campaign.
After their first 10 games, the Red Devils find themselves in eighth place in the Premier League, having lost half of their top-flight matches. In contrast, Aston Villa is currently fifth in the league, trailing the leaders, Tottenham, by just four points.
