Manchester City sends message to Marcus Rashford after penalty miss

Marcus Rashford went under a torrent of appalling racial abuse after missing a penalty in the shoot-out against Italy on Sunday.

Following the Euro 2020 final lose, the Manchester United striker wrote an open letter on Twitter, saying ‘sorry’ for his misstep and deploring the abhorrent abuse.

Furthermore, Manchester City showed class by supporting the 23-year-old, sending him a classy message via web-based media: “All of Manchester and all of England is proud of you, Marcus.”

Jadon Sancho and Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka were racially abused also after missing their penalties and Rashford even needed to manage his south Manchester wall painting being damaged with graffiti.
