Manchester United reveals when Marcus Rashford will be back after shoulder surgery

Marcus Rashford is reportedly making steady progress after shoulder surgery and could be back in training by the end of the month.

The Manchester United striker, 23, had an operation two weeks ago.

Rashford’s injury hampered the end to his season as he played through the pain barrier at Euro 2020.

He is having rehab sessions twice a week.

And United are hopeful he could even be back playing at the end of September.

That would be weeks before his planned return date.

Rashford could start light training within the next ten days.

And the club are delighted at the speed of his recovery.

It is understood Rashford has carried out water treadmill work, resistance work and squats to build up strength.

He is in less pain now but is still wearing a brace.

Meanwhile, Sportvectru.com earlier reported that Manchester United are close to finalising a loan move that would see Andreas Pereira join Flamengo for the 2021/2022 season.

Pereira made 40 of those appearances in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first full season in charge, in 2019/20, but he has since been pushed to the fringes of the squad by new signings. He has two years left on his current contract at Old Trafford, having signed a new four-year deal in March 2019.

According to Manchester Evening News, The two clubs have been in talks over a deal for the 25 year old and the terms struck will see Pereira remaining with the Brazilian giants until the end of June 2022.

Pereira has been involved in United’s pre-season and he scored a sensational goal in the Old Trafford draw with Brentford, but an exit was always likely this summer, either on a permanent departure or on loan once again.

The Brazil international spent last season on loan with Lazio, making 33 appearances in total and 26 in Serie A, although only three of them were starts.

This will be the fourth time Pereira has left United for a season-long loan, having spent the 2016/17 campaign with Granada and 2017/18 with Valencia.
