Mason Greenwood of Manchester United is about to become a father for the first time.
The 21-year-old suspended player, whose assault and attempted rape charges were dropped, recently learned his partner is pregnant.
The couple is “looking forward” to the arrival of summer, and his family is aware.
After a woman made statements on social media, Greenwood was detained in January of that same year. He was cleared of any wrongdoing three weeks ago.
He keeps his club suspension, but he gets paid £75,000 per week. He has a contract through 2025.
The striker would like to get back into the first-team as soon as possible.
However, some players have expressed their deep concern to senior club officials in the event that Greenwood returns.
United Women’s Supporters’ Club founder Natalie Burrell has stated that she will never again see Greenwood in a red shirt.
She said “United need to make a statement and letting him back would be the worst thing they could do.
“I don’t want to see him training, in a kit, or coming out at Old Trafford again. And I’m confident they won’t (let him).”
