Saints set to meet with former Cowboys head coach

The New Orleans Saints, who have had limited interviews so far this hiring cycle, are set to meet with former Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy. The team will also conduct in-person interviews with Mike Kafka and Anthony Weaver later this week. According to Nick Underhill, McCarthy’s interview will be the Saints’ first with a high-profile candidate, although the exact timing remains uncertain due to an approaching snowstorm. If conditions allow, the interview could take place as soon as Wednesday, depending on Aaron Glenn’s situation with the Jets on Tuesday.

After McCarthy and the Cowboys couldn’t come to terms on a contract, the Saints emerged as a major contender for his services. Although the Chicago Bears briefly expressed interest in McCarthy before hiring Ben Johnson as their head coach, this development could pave the way for McCarthy to take the top job in New Orleans, assuming Glenn’s availability aligns with the team’s schedule later this week.
