Dolphins Poised to Make a Strong Push for Joey Bosa After Release
While speculation has swirled about Joey Bosa potentially joining his brother Nick Bosa in San Francisco following his release from the Los Angeles Chargers, another team could emerge as a serious contender. Although the prospect of the Bosa brothers teaming up is enticing, the Miami Dolphins may make a strong bid to land the former Chargers pass rusher in free agency, according to Dianna Russini on X.
“While the idea of playing with his brother Nick in San Francisco appeals to Joey Bosa, he is expected to garner strong interest from the Dolphins, per source,” Russini reported. “Miami ranked 27th in the league in sacks in 2024.”
Although the Chargers opted to part ways with Bosa ahead of free agency, there appears to be a broader market for him beyond just the 49ers.
As Russini pointed out, the Dolphins are in dire need of pass-rushing help. They finished the 2024 season with only 35 sacks, placing them 27th in the league. Given their need for a defensive playmaker, Bosa could be an ideal fit—though there is a notable concern.
Bosa is a high-impact player, but his availability has been an issue. Since being selected third overall in the 2016 NFL Draft, he has played a full season only three times—2017, 2019, and 2021. His talent is undeniable, but his durability remains a question mark for any team considering signing him.
