Eagles Insider Names 1 Player ‘Set To Cash In Big Time’
Winning a Super Bowl often boosts the value of a team’s young talent, positioning them for lucrative contracts. For the Philadelphia Eagles, defensive tackle Moro Ojomo could be the next player to reap the benefits.
After spending his first two seasons as a backup, Ojomo is expected to transition to defensive end following Josh Sweat’s departure to the Arizona Cardinals. This move sets him up for a starting role and a chance to make a significant impact in the upcoming season.
Eagles reporter Eliot Shorr-Parks recently noted on X that Ojomo could be in line for a substantial contract extension next offseason, as he becomes eligible after completing his third NFL season.
Ojomo, who spent part of his childhood in Nigeria, wasn’t a standout starter at the University of Texas, but the Eagles saw his potential, selecting him in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
Though his playing time was limited as a rookie, he played in all 17 games last season, recording 20 tackles (six solo) and five quarterback hits. He stepped up in the postseason, contributing seven tackles (five solo), two tackles for loss, and a sack across four playoff games as the Eagles dominated the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.
With one of the league’s top defenses leading their championship run, maintaining that strength will be crucial as Philadelphia aims for back-to-back titles.
