Cowboys Predicted to Sign 32-Year-Old RB After Disappointing Season
The Dallas Cowboys are entering a new chapter under first-year head coach Brian Schottenheimer. After finishing the 2024 season with a 7-10 record, including consecutive losses to the Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles, the team is looking to reshape its roster. Schottenheimer, who previously served as the Cowboys’ offensive coordinator from 2023 to 2024, has also held coaching roles with the Jaguars, Seahawks, Colts, Rams, Chiefs, and Chargers.
As Dallas prepares for his first season at the helm, USA Today has identified a key free-agent target for the team. Writer Jacob Camenker suggests that the Cowboys could consider signing veteran running back Raheem Mostert. Mostert, who recorded 278 rushing yards and two touchdowns with the Miami Dolphins in 2024, is nearing the latter part of his career but had an impressive 2023 season, posting 1,012 yards and 18 touchdowns in 15 games.
With the Cowboys’ current backfield consisting of Rico Dowdle and Deuce Vaughn, adding an experienced player like Mostert could provide much-needed stability. Dallas may look to make a move when free agency opens on March 12.
