The Super Eagles of Nigeria secured a spot in the semi-finals of the 2023 TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup in Cote d’Ivoire with a victory over Angola. Ademola Lookman’s lone goal in the 41st minute gave Nigeria the lead and ultimately the win.

The match, held at the 33,000-capacity Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan, was a fiercely contested battle that showcased the resilience and prowess of the Nigerian team on their path to AFCON glory.

The game saw four yellow cards, with Angola receiving three and Nigeria receiving one. In the 75th minute, a header from Napoli striker Victor Osihmen was overruled by Senegalese referee Issa Sy after a check by the Video Assistant Referee, ruling it as offside.

Despite missed chances from both sides, Nigeria held on to their lead to secure their place in the semi-finals.
