Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) could be renewing their interest in Marcus Rashford, as per reports.
The Ligue 1 side is reportedly preparing a list of replacements for Kylian Mbappe, who is said to have decided to join Real Madrid once his PSG contract expires.
Real Madrid is confident about sealing the deal, as Mbappe is reportedly open to reducing his £62 million-a-year wages.
PSG has accepted the risk of losing Mbappe and is considering alternatives. Reporter Ben Jacobs suggests that a move for Rashford is a possibility.
Rashford has been on PSG’s radar for some time and had negotiations with the club before signing a new contract with Manchester United last year, although those discussions were reportedly used as leverage.
However, Rashford’s potential switch to PSG could be on the cards if he expresses interest in the move.
PSG is not keen on pursuing the England star if he has no plans to leave his current club. Despite previous reports indicating PSG’s focus on Victor Osimhen, who is also linked with Arsenal and Chelsea, Rashford remains a viable option.
Rashford has faced challenges this season, scoring only five goals in 28 games and dealing with off-the-pitch issues, including a reported 12-hour bender in Belfast.
He was fined two weeks’ wages worth £650,000 and dropped from the squad for one match after phoning in sick to training.
However, he has since returned to the starting XI and scored in Manchester United’s 4-3 win over Wolves last Thursday.
