Osimhen on doubt for Mozambique clash as his set to undergoes injury scan

Victor Osimhen is set to undergo an MRI scan to assess the nature and extent of the injury he incurred during Nigeria’s 2-2 draw with Saudi Arabia.

Osimhen had to be substituted in the 55th minute due to the injury, which now casts uncertainty on his availability for the Super Eagles’ upcoming friendly match against the Mambas of Mozambique scheduled for Monday.

Head coach Jose Peseiro has affirmed that the Napoli striker will have the scan on Monday to determine the seriousness of the injury.

“At this moment, it is my opinion, will I go and put in a player with an injury? A month’s injury, or even two? It is better to put it in his mind now,” Peseiro said during his interaction with the media after the game.

“He is going to do the test, check, and if it doesn’t improve, you must expect the club [to make the final decisions], the club pays the salary for him. Not only for Osimhen but for our players.”
