The French champions are reportedly prepared to activate Dembele’s €50 million release clause before the midnight deadline when it would double in value.
According to RAC1, Dembele’s agent has reached out to Barcelona to initiate negotiations with PSG. The player is said to be keen on leaving the club on good terms and hopes that both clubs can agree on a transfer fee rather than simply activating his release clause.
Fabrizio Romano also shares the view that Dembele is interested in the two clubs sitting down for talks. However, it is unclear how Barcelona will respond to the situation as they appear to be upset about the ongoing saga and have little hope of retaining the player.
While PSG would currently pay only €25 million if they trigger the release clause, Barcelona may be hoping for a larger fee for Dembele’s departure. With time running out, the next few hours will be crucial in determining the outcome of this transfer saga.
