Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira says he’d like to see games every day for a week in order to avoid the “bad feeling” of voiding the 2019/20 Premier League season.
Top-flight officials remain determined to finish the current campaign, although plans for a resumption by April 30 are set to be put back even further at a meeting of the clubs this week.
Throughout the ongoing debate on what to do with the season there have been frequent claims that the current campaign could be voided, although such a scenario would be fraught with complications as well as being an undesirable outcome from a sporting point of view.
The vast majority of clubs still want the season to resume when it is safe to do so, and Pereira is desperate for it to happen.
“For me, I want to finish the season as quickly as possible,” he told ESPN. “I understand it’s a difficult time now and the health of people is more important.
“But I would like to finish the season, even if it means in a week playing a game every day. I want to finish the season. It will be a bad feeling if we have to void the season.”
