Chelsea and Marseille have reached an agreement for the transfer of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The striker is expected to join the French side on a three-year deal, pending a medical examination.
This move would bring an end to Aubameyang’s stint in the Premier League, where he had an unhappy spell with Chelsea.
Despite joining the club last summer, he struggled for playing time under Graham Potter and was even excluded from their Champions League squad.
Several clubs from Europe, the MLS, and Saudi Arabia showed interest in him, but Marseille emerged as the leading contenders to secure his signature.
Aubameyang had one year remaining on his Chelsea contract, which was reportedly worth over £200,000 per week.
Marseille’s third-place finish in the French league last season has granted them qualification for the Champions League qualifying round.
