Portugal coach Roberto Martínez has acknowledged the footballing recovery Joao Félix has demonstrated in recent weeks.
According to Martínez, two crucial factors in his resurgence are his time in the Premier League and his new role at Barcelona under the guidance of Xavi.
Martínez believes that Joao Félix is a truly special footballer.
“I’ve not seen many players who can play inside but also on the wing, who have the capacity to take on players and have a good understanding with his teammates,” Portugal head coach told the media speaking about Joao Felix.
“What I have seen is that he feels important, decisive for his club. Barca have shown him another dimension. (…)
“It’s great to have Joao with us. Thanks to the role he plays at Barcelona, he brings us some extra liveliness,” he added.
It’s great to hear that Joao Felix has found a new sense of confidence at Barcelona and is performing well for both his club and the Portuguese national team.
