Manchester United have affirmed the signing of Tom Heaton on a free move from Aston Villa.
The 35-year-old will be the third-decision goalkeeper at Old Trafford as Lee Grant’s future remaining parts questionable until further notice.
The Englishman really began his career with the Red Devils, leaving the club in 2010 to join Cardiff City after a progression of advance spells.

Heaton said: “I’m looking forward to hitting the ground running. I feel in great shape and I’m looking forward to coming in to compete with the other goalkeepers.”
“I’m just seeing it as a fantastic opportunity as I still feel I’ve got an awful lot to give and I’ve got the bit between my teeth.
