ESPN, on the other hand, claims that United are currently preparing a move to sign Sommer to compete with De Gea next summer.

In contrast, it is anticipated that Dubravka will return to Newcastle before the season ends.

Sommer played three games at the World Cup in Qatar on Tuesday, when Switzerland lost to Portugal in their last-16 match.

Since 2014, the 33-year-old has been Borussia Monchengladbach’s primary goalkeeper, but it appears that the German team has already begun making preparations for his departure.

Chelsea is reportedly aiming to sell Mount for a fee of £55 million in the upcoming weeks.

Chelsea appears to be open to the possibility of selling Mason Mount during the upcoming transfer window, as the club may see the departure of several homegrown players.

According to talkSPORT, Ruben Loftus-Cheek is reportedly willing to accept a reduced salary in order to secure a move to AC Milan, potentially making him another player set to leave Chelsea.

Both Mount and Loftus-Cheek were present at Stamford Bridge for Chelsea’s final Premier League match of the season, a 1-1 draw against Newcastle. Loftus-Cheek received a standing ovation from the Chelsea supporters when he was substituted in the 60th minute.

Unfortunately, Mount was not able to play in the match due to a pelvic injury, and his last appearance for the club may have been in the 2-0 Champions League second leg defeat to Real Madrid in April.

Mount displayed signs of emotion as he applauded the fans while they made their way around the pitch at Stamford Bridge, suggesting a sentimental farewell.
