Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson made his first public appearance at Old Trafford since stepping down from his ambassadorial role, attending the Carabao Cup match where interim boss and former player Ruud van Nistelrooy led United to a 5-2 victory over Leicester City.
Ferguson, United’s most successful manager, was seen in the director’s box, showing no signs of friction with club officials despite his recent departure from the ambassador role.
Other United icons, including Bryan Robson and Paddy Crerand, joined Ferguson, along with Sir Dave Brailsford, adding to the club’s prominent presence.
Meanwhile, United are reportedly close to finalizing the appointment of Sporting CP’s Ruben Amorim as their next permanent manager.
