Ministry of Sports and Youth Development in Nigeria, Sunday Dare is uncertain whether Gernot Rohr is as yet the correct man to lead the Super Eagles.
This comes after Nigeria were held to a goalless draw against Sierra Leone in the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier in Freetown on Tuesday.
It was the Super Eagles’ second progressive draw against Leone Stars, who amazingly returned from 4-0 down to hold Nigeria to a 4-4 draw on Friday.
In spite of the two draws, Nigeria are as yet positioned at the highest point of Group L standings with eight focuses with two matches left.
“The performance of the Super Eagles from their last two matches calls into question the suitability and competences of technical adviser, Rohr. Nigerian football deserves better.”
“The needful will be done. Apologies to all football lovers,” Dare wrote.
Rohr has been in charge of the Super Eagles since 2016 and he guided the team to 2018 FIFA World Cup finals.
The German tactician also led the West African giants to the 2019 AFCON finals where they finished third.
