Three Champions League Giants Eye Greenwood as Man Utd Prepare for Big Sale

Mason Greenwood is reportedly attracting interest from three major Champions League clubs, according to recent transfer updates.

The 22-year-old forward has been in impressive form since joining Marseille over the summer, scoring five goals in just four games. His performances have caught the attention of Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, and Bayern Munich, with scouts from these clubs monitoring his progress, as reported by talkSPORT.

This surge in interest follows Greenwood’s loan spell at Getafe last season, where he netted 10 goals in 36 appearances.

Greenwood was removed from Manchester United in January 2022 after being charged with attempted rape and assault, charges he denied.

These criminal charges were dropped a year later, but United conducted their own investigation, leading to his departure. He joined Marseille in a permanent £30 million deal earlier this summer.

Despite his impressive return to form, Greenwood has no path back to the England national team. As a result, he is looking to switch international allegiances to Jamaica.

The Jamaican Football Federation has made a formal request to the FA to transfer his international registration, and the process is already underway.

Greenwood, who has not played for England since 2020, hopes to end his nearly four-year international exile.

Jamaica initially approached Greenwood about the switch following the dismissal of his criminal charges in February, but he declined at the time, hoping to reignite his England career.

However, those hopes were dashed, with interim England manager Lee Carsley ruling out his return to the national team.
