Erik ten Hag’s response about his managerial philosophy at Manchester United was quite straightforward.
He emphasized that Man United didn’t hire him specifically to implement the style of play synonymous with Ajax.
He said: “Manchester United did not sign me to play the Ajax way.
“They signed me to win. To develop a project the way I did at Ajax. To win games in an adventurous way, and I think I have been able to show that in multiple games.”
It seems evident from Ten Hag’s comments that he isn’t solely focused on bringing the Ajax style of football to Old Trafford.
Instead, he’s aiming to instill an exciting, attacking brand of football expected from Manchester United.
Despite this intention, the team hasn’t consistently showcased this style during the current season.
Ten Hag successfully managed to steer his team into good form last season after a shaky start, and he aims to replicate this turnaround in the current campaign.
