TRUE ESCAPE: Paul Pogba insists he wants to feel loved at his next club

Paul Pogba uncovered what he is hoping to escape of his next move after leaving Manchester United on a free transfer this mid year.

“I just want the best for me. I’m thinking, putting everything together, take my time, and I’m just looking for the best, I want to play football, be myself always, and enjoy what I do,” he told Uninterrupted.

“I need to enjoy what I do because otherwise I cannot perform well. I don’t want to be thinking negatively. We can be losing games, trophies but you have to be happy and enjoy yourself – that’s what I’m looking for.”

“Everybody wants to feel loved, everyone needs that in your soul to feel appreciated. Everything you do even when you grow up, when you do a good thing you like to hear well done, nice, it’s always been like that even adults we need that. It’s always good to feel the work you do is appreciated that you’re doing well that people are happy with yourself.

“I think people around make a huge difference because they cheer you up or they can bring you down – it can be both – so you need them to bring you up.

“Sometimes you just don’t feel yourself, that can happen, just someone ‘it’s alright, it’s okay,’ even the people that were on the bench they give you a push and it’s important, important to feel it from your teammates because you can bring it up also.”

'I want to win the Champions League and the Premier League with Tottenham,' says Antonio Conte

Speaking to the British media, Antonio Conte said: “I want to win the Champions League and the Premier League. My target and the club’s target is to improve.

“It’s the process we started seven months ago. If you get a place in the Champions League it doesn’t mean you’ve achieved your target.

“I said I want to build something important with this club because I like to win. My experience brings me to say we’re going in the right direction.

“I know the club needed another step to be competitive with the top teams in Europe. For this reason we have to not be presumptuous or arrogant.

“We have to work, work, work to improve on the pitch and outside of the pitch to become a top club. The ambition has to be the best.”

Another time is unfolding at Tottenham under Conte with the Italian driving Spurs to a main four completion in the league last season in the wake of taking over in November 2021.

Tottenham started off their 2022/23 Premier League season with a 4-1 rebound win against Southampton and Conte will expect to see business as usual.

'Criminal!' - Paul Scholes blasts two Man United players after Brighton defeat

Paul Scholes hammered Scott McTominay and Fred after Manchester United slipped to a disappointed defeat to Brighton in their Premier League next season opener.

Erik ten Hag endured a horrible first serious game as United manager as his Red Devils side were beaten 2-1 at Old Trafford.

Pascal Gross scored two goals in nine first-half minutes as Brighton took a directing lead which drove the home side to be booed off at half-time.

United, who finished sixth last season, improved after the break but were unable to mount a comeback despite Alexis Mac Allister’s unfortunate own goal.

It was Brighton’s first-ever win at the Theatre of Dreams and marked a deflating start to the Ten Hag era at Manchester United.

Scholes described United’s first-half performance as ‘shambolic’ and singled out midfield duo McTominay and Fred for criticism.

“It was a shocking start for Man United and the first half was shambolic really, Scholes told Premier League productions. “The signs were there right from the first few minutes that this was going to be bad.

“McTominay was always trying to run with the ball, ridiculous. The quality in the middle of the pitch was really poor.

“I was happy he didn’t get sent off [for a high challenge] but I think he was slightly lucky. Again, he’s running with the ball, absolutely ridiculous.

“It could easily have been a red card. The quality in the middle of the pitch was nowhere near good enough but we’ve seen that for the last few years with these two players.

“With Fred and McTominay, he [Ten Hag] is going to have to go with just one of them but even one of them is probably too many.

“Fred gives the ball away all the time and McTominay’s trying to run with the ball constantly and then gives it away. Pass it to your best players! It’s not that difficult. It’s criminal on a day like today.”
